Woodland Gnome Family Playset – Tender Leaf Toys | Wooden Toy NZ

Perfect for:

• 3–4 yrs: Stand the toadstools tall and invent forest rescue missions – great for fine motor skills and storytelling.
• 4–5 yrs: Act out social scenes and tiny-home layouts, stretching empathy, communication and early maths (who lives where?).
• 5–6 yrs: Weave “once upon a time” epics, building narrative thinking, problem-solving and bigger-world ecology chats.

Looking for a play scene that fits in a handbag but bursts into a whole backyard fairy-tale? Meet Freya, Olga and Erik – three cheerful gnomes who’ve swapped screen time for mushroom hopping. Pop them under their spotty toadstool roof, or clip the set onto our Merrywood Rosewood Cottage for instant “gnome next-door” adventures. Each smooth wooden piece is deliberately chunky for little hands, inviting open-ended play that quietly grows language, spatial awareness and social-emotional smarts.

When the laundry crisis hits at bedtime, toddlers can string the leaf tiles into a gnome washing line, while you sip the “tea” they serve from the cottage kitchen. Or take the whole glade outside and announce, “Mum, they’re camping under the broccoli!” – sudden nature study sorted. This versatile add-on mixes perfectly with block worlds, play silks and loose-parts to keep curiosity blooming.

Key features:

• Solid rubberwood with water-based paints, sized for small hands
• Designed to slot into the Merrywood Rosewood Cottage and wider Merrywood Tales world
• Sparks imaginative storytelling, social play and vocabulary growth
• Strengthens fine motor control and hand-eye coordination
• Ideal loose-parts accessory for Montessori-inspired small-world or nature play

Tender Leaf Toys are hand-crafted in Indonesia from SVLK-certified reclaimed rubberwood, finished with non-toxic, water-based paints and certified to EN 71, ASTM and AS/NZS standards. For every tree they up-cycle, another is planted – letting you delight your little one today and nurture a greener tomorrow.
