Wooden Safari Animal Set - Tender Leaf Toys | Wooden Toys NZ

Perfect for:

• 3–4 years: Sorting, stacking, and roaring play - perfect for fine motor control and imaginative storytelling.
• 4–5 years: Small world adventures build problem-solving and communication skills.
• 5–6 years: Creative role play supports social skills, empathy and early science learning about animal habitats.

Time to bust out the rest of the block sets and join your toddler in building your very own Auckland Zoo! Bring the wild savannah to your playroom with this stunning Wooden Safari Animal Set by Tender Leaf Toys. Eight beautifully handcrafted animals - including a lion, zebra, giraffe, elephant, crocodile, hippo, rhino and antelope - are ready for endless small world adventures.

Toddlers will love lining them up, roaring as loudly as the lion, or attempting the classic "let’s see how many animals can balance on the giraffe’s head" game (spoiler: not many). As they play, children strengthen fine motor skills, early problem-solving, and storytelling confidence. The animals can also be stacked, sorted, or used in imaginative safari scenes - fostering open-ended play that adapts to each child’s stage of learning.

Neatly stored in a wooden display shelf, this set is as beautiful on the playroom shelf as it is engaging in little hands. A timeless Montessori-inspired wooden toy designed for years of meaningful play and discovery.

Tender Leaf Toys are hand-crafted in Indonesia from SVLK-certified reclaimed rubberwood. Each toy is finished with non-toxic, water-based paints, then certified to EN 71, ASTM and AS/NZS standards. For every tree they up-cycle, the brand plants another, letting you delight your little one today and nurture a greener tomorrow. So when you order a Tender Leaf Toy from Curious Moonbeam, at least 2 trees get planted! With your help, we choose to nurture the earth for the children of tomorrow.
